Upon arrival you are met and transferred to your pre booked hotel. City tour of Bombay visiting Jehangir Art Gallery, Prince of Wales Museum, Victoria Gardens, Gateway of India, Dhobi Ghat, Malabar Hills, hanging gardens and Mahaluxmi Temple. Day 02: Bombay - Bangalore. Upon arrival in Bangalore Airport you are met and transferred to Hassan. Upon arrival in Hassan check in at your pre booked hotel. Day 03: Hassan. Sightseeing tour of Hassan visiting the famous temples of Belur and Halebid. The temples at Belur and Halebid which remained incomplete despite 80 years of labour, was the offerings of the finest workmanship in stone to the gods. The intricately sculptured decoration on the temple according to some critics are even better than the friezes at Konark in Orissa and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. The temple at Halebid, the capital of the Hoysalas was started 10 year after the Belur Temple at Belur Channakeshava Temple is the only one of the three Hoysala sites which is still used for workship. Halebid today is a rural village and Belur a small town and the temples are only testimony to their past glory. Hassan - Mysore. Upon arrival check in to your pre booked hotel. Day 04: Mysore. City tour of Mysore visiting the Maharaja's Palace - the palace built in Indosaracenic style is profusely decorated and gilded, Chamundeshwari Temple, Zoological Gardens, the Cauvery Art and Craft Emporium and Brindawan Gardens. Day 05: Mysore - Ooty. Upon arrival check in at your pre booked hotel. Day 06: Ooty. Sightseeing tour of Ooty visiting Botanical Gardens, Lake Doddabetta, Mukurti Peak, the Pykara Dam and sprawling tea plantations. Day 07: Ooty - Cochin. Upon arrival check in at your pre booked hotel. Day 08: Cochin. Full day city tour of Cochin visiting Jewish Synagogue - the oldest synagogue in the entire commonwealth. St. Francis Church, St. Mary's Cathedral, Cochin Harbour, Terminus, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Dutch Palace built by the Portugese is known for its murals depicting scenes from Ramayana and the Mahabharata and dresses and palanquins used by Cochin's erstwhile rulers. Evening Kathakali dance show. Day 09: Cochin - Kumarakom. Upon arrival check n at your pre booked hotel. Day 10: Kumarakom - Periyar check in at your pre booked hotel. Boat ride on Lake Periyar exploring the wild life. Day 11: Periyar - Madurai. Upon arrival check in at your pre booked hotel. Day 12: Madurai. Temple tour of Madurai visiting Meenakshi Temple with its ten towering Gopurams and rare sculptures raised by the Nayaakas who ruled Madurai from the middle of 16th century to the middle of 18th century is the focal point of the city, and the first glimpse of the city is one of the magnificent Gopurams of Madurai, Tirumalai Naicker Palace, Mariamman Tank, the Hall of Thousand Pillars, Gandhi Museum. Day 13: Madurai - Trichy. Upon arrival check in at your pre booked hotel. Day 14: Trichy. Temple tour of Trichy visiting the Ranganathaswamy Temple which is 10 kms away from Trichy. This 13th century temple has 21 Gopurams and is surrounded by seven concentric walls, within which the town is located. Day 15: Trichy - Madras.Upon arrival check in at hotel. Day 16: Madras. City tour visiting Fort St. George, St. Mary's Church, Santhome Cathedral - The remains of St. Thomas were kept here, government museum, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Anna Zoological Park, and Marine Beach - The most prominent feature of Madras and the second longest beach in the world, which runs from the harbour in the north to the Cathedral in the South. Day 17: Madras - Delhi. Departure transfer to airport to board flight for onward journey. |
